The Short Deer Walk 1,6 km
Want to experience deer up close without spending the whole day? The Short Deer Walk in Hindsgavl Dyrehave gives you a short, easily accessible nature experience with good chances of meeting fallow deer and red deer along the way.

Close to the deer in Hindsgavl Dyrehave
You walk along a narrow path between old beech trees, and within a few hundred metres you can see fallow deer and red deer grazing freely in the clearings. The Short Deer Walk is 1.6 km long with only a slight incline, so it suits families with children as well as those with limited time.
The route lies in Hindsgavl Dyrehave on the Hindsgavl peninsula, just outside Middelfart with a view of the Lillebælt. Start at the car park near Naturcenter Hindsgavl, where there are also toilets. Along the way, you pass a campfire shelter where you can take a break if you’ve brought a packed lunch.
The animals roam freely in the deer park and are used to visitors, but they’re still wild, so keep your distance and move calmly. In autumn, you can experience the rut, when the roars of the red deer stags echo between the trees.
The walk requires no preparation. It works well as a short nature experience on its own or as a warm-up for a longer hike on the Hindsgavl peninsula.
