Historie, arkitektur og religion

Village churches on hills, striking architectural towers, lead-framed colourful windows and churches dating back to the 12th century.

In Middelfart Municipality you'll find 21 churches. 19 of them were built in the Middle Ages, while two churches, in Strib and Røjleskov, were built in the early 1900s. Time has left its mark on many of them, some are rebuilt, extended and renovated over the years. These buildings are not just silent objects, but a way where we are able to experience and see Danish history through the walls and art that the churches withhold.
